Official Release: Lecce Sign Antunes
By: Tommaso | July 19th, 2008
Official Release, July 18th 2008:
“It’s official that we have completed a deal to bring Antunes to Lecce,” a statement from Lecce reads. “The player arrives on loan with his ownership to be discussed at the end of the season. He will be presented at training tomorrow.”
Antunes was brought in last season by Roma after they were able to beat out many top european clubs including Juventus for his services. Although Antunes only had five Serie A appearences for As Roma last season he is still considered a highly rated Fullback.
It was not in my opinion a perfetto setting for the twenty one year old last term with the resurgence of pannuci and the ever steady Mexes.
The defender has been heavily linked with a move away from the Eternal City in recent weeks, with Bologna, Chievo and Celtic all linked.
However it is Lecce who have won the race to sign the full back.
I am pretty excited about this as well as rumors of Miccoli of palermo..Forza Lecce!

hell yea, hopefully they can get a few more quality players and stay up. Beretta seems like he’s adept at reaching safety and the edition of Cacia should help as well.

Miccoli is never going back to Lecce this season. Maybe next, but not this season.

We love iTunes at Roma. This is a great deal for you guys. He is great going forward and seemed alright at the back but he needs PT that he couldnt get at Roma!
Good luck with him!
and get the club logo changed so we know that the Lecce blog is up!
