Siena the next Test for Lecce
By: Tommaso |Coming off a 2-0 win to dismal Cagliari. Siena will be the next “test” in the campaign. No doubt the thoughts of a win and being in the Top 10 has to add pressure but we will see hopefully that Lecce is up to the task!
As a side note; as a player I enjoy watching teams that have kept the “identity” of there style of playing. Not to take away from the success of the Powerhouses but many do not play simply what I love to watch , a physical, testing chess match which is Calcio.
until Next post..Ciao
Lecce 2-0 Chievo Verona
By: Tommaso |First I would like to apologize for my absence. I have been between Caccamo and Orsogna and am finally settled in. Just in time to revel in Lecce securing a 2-0 victory over Chievo Verona!
Second-half strikes from Fabio Caserta and Jose Castillo gave Lecce their first win of the season at the Stadio Via del Mare.
Who would of thought Lecce is 13th and ahead of as Roma anf ac Milan after week two? It is early but gives reason to believe!
Please lets refrain from any inappropriate comments..Forza Lecce!!
Lecce Get Castillo….
By: Tommaso |Lecce have signed José Ignacio Castillo Álvarez,
A prolific striker, nicknamed Nacho, he moved in Italy in 2001 to join Serie D club Brindisi, offering a massive contribution to their promotion to Serie C2 thanks to 15 goals in 23 matches. Despite this, he was not initially allowed to try his luck into professional football due to his lack of a European Union passport, and consequently opted to join Apulian Serie D side Nardò, where he scored 17 goals. In 2003 he left Nardò for Vigor Lamezia, where he scored an impressive 24 goals in 32 matches. In 2004, Castillo returned to Apulia to join newly-promoted but ambitious Serie D side Gallipoli, helping them to gain two consecutive promotions thanks to a 40 goals in 55 matches, being now able to play into Serie C2 during the 2005-06 season after having finally obtained an Italian passport at the age of 29.
For the 2006-07 season, Castillo agreed to join Serie B side Frosinone in a loan deal, but failed to impress, scoring only 5 goals in 30 matches and being mostly featured as a substitute during the campaign. For the following season, Castillo signed for newly-promoted Serie B club Pisa, and presented himself by scoring two winning goals to Bari in his debut match with the nerazzurri.
I want to take a second to address my Friend writing the Palermo blog.

Ronaldhino in Milan (mixed feelings but will be fun, joga Bonita) and Zambrotta (pure skill). It will be a year to not miss a game..and I won’t..I am excited for Lecce as I am of Southern heritage and will be in Orsogna (Abruzzo) and Caccamo (Sicilia) late October again and hope to trek to Lecce to catch a match! Ciao for now!
Official Release: Lecce Sign Antunes
By: Tommaso |
Official Release, July 18th 2008:
“It’s official that we have completed a deal to bring Antunes to Lecce,” a statement from Lecce reads. “The player arrives on loan with his ownership to be discussed at the end of the season. He will be presented at training tomorrow.”
Antunes was brought in last season by Roma after they were able to beat out many top european clubs including Juventus for his services. Although Antunes only had five Serie A appearences for As Roma last season he is still considered a highly rated Fullback.
It was not in my opinion a perfetto setting for the twenty one year old last term with the resurgence of pannuci and the ever steady Mexes.
The defender has been heavily linked with a move away from the Eternal City in recent weeks, with Bologna, Chievo and Celtic all linked.
However it is Lecce who have won the race to sign the full back.
I am pretty excited about this as well as rumors of Miccoli of palermo..Forza Lecce!
